Pros:

  • Very popular choice for campervan versions!

  • Popular choice for professional use in logistics, and construction / renovation companies.

  • Nice to look at from certain angles, and cheaper to afford

  • Great visibility outside, perfect for the city.

Cons:

  • No Rear-wheel-drive option available.

  • The interior quality is very budget.

  • Long-term reliability

The Stellantis large vans have a special place in my heart. Not that I ever owned one, but I grew up around them since childhood. The first generation, boxy. Second generation, more round-edged, but they dated very badly. They were very popular nonetheless!

The third generation was released in the mid 2000s. Since then it saw only facelifts. I have to confess I always liked this third generation from many different angles. They looked interesting compared to other vans.

I had a chance to review an Opel Movano 2024. It was an interesting moment. The interior was a bit cramped, but the visibility outside was one of the best! Perfect for the city.

The interior quality was quite budget. The door bin looked very afterthought-ish. But like other vans, there were various practicality solutions and plastic interior.

Now to the better part, the cargo area! Since the first generation, the Stellantis large vans always had a front wheel drive layout. Equally meaning - massive cargo space!

Primary competitors to the Stellantis large vans, are the Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, Ford Transit, and the Renault Master:

  • The Mercedes Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter a similar, they both are better than the Stellantis vans in terms of driving comfort, cabin space, cabin design and utility. They over front wheel drive and rear wheel drive. But their disadvantage would be their expensive price tag. They require maintenance, otherwise they will crumble catastrophically in long terms.

  • The Ford Transit has the best driving experience. The interior is more car-like. You can choose front or rear wheel drive.

  • The Renault Master is similar to the Stellantis vans in many ways. But the Renault Master offers front and rear wheel drive
